Quality assurance

ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001 certified quality and environmental management systems. We have separate preset systems for tools and CNC-machines equipped with integrated digital systems for workpiece measuring. For most demanding measurements we use coordinate -measuring machine (max 800 x 800 mm). For bigger complicated constructions there is a portable 3D-Laser tracker system equipped with the integrated measuring arm. Maximum workpiece size is 70 000 x 70 000 mm. This equipment enables the measurement on the machine or if necessary at erection site.
Welding quality control is made according the customer's requirements. All our welders are certificated and for the new welding procedurs are taken care by own IWS-qualified person.
Meteco is member of Achilles quality association for off-shore industry.

Machining

Multi tasking CNC-vertical lathes for max. dia. of 2500 mm and height of 2500 mm. CNC-lathing max. dia. of 700 mm. Our total lathing capacity is 30 000 h/year. CNC-milling: Horizontal milling machines, max. work pieces X=18 000 mm , Y= 3500, Z/W = 1800 and vertical milling machines max. work pieces X=11 000 mm, Y=1600 mm. Our total machining capacity is 50 000 h/year.

Composite manufacturing technology

Meteco offers turnkey deliveries for composite manufacturing technology. Our speciality is with large size out-of-autoclave tooling technology, including complete packages from engineering to testing. Current customers include aerospace manufacturers such Airbus, Israel Aircraft Industries and Patria.

Meteco has delivered composite manufacturing technology since 2003. The biggest delivered infusion mould and tooling system so far has been 10 meters in lenght with a total weight of 35 tons. Now Meteco has updated manufacturing and engineering capacity, and the biggest work pieces can be up to 18,0 x 3,5 metres with maximum weight of 40 tons in temperature controlled environment. Also special tooling materials such as cast Invar are available.

Welding

Modern welding methods for different materials, welding stations being up to 15 meters in length. Some of the welding stations are equipped with rotatable systems. The responsibility of quality control and method development is carried by IWS- qualified persons. All our welders are certificated professionals. Welding materials are: mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, high alloy special steels as Invar, CrMo etc. The total welding capacity is 55 000 h/year.

Finishing

Grinding and polishing : capacity of surface/circular grinding and polishing totalling 10 000 h/year.
Surface treatment : two wet painting shops with steel grain blasting and modern pickling plant for rust proof and acid-proof steel surface treatment. Necessary heating treatments and other coatings are delivered by our suppliers networks.

Pickling

Meteco has a modern pickling plant for surface treatment of acid-proof materials. The maximum work piece for pickling sink is 13m x 2m x 2m. The pickling paste method can be used for bigger pieces.
The care of environment is part of our company environment policy. Our pickling plant fills in all environment requirements and is equipped with chemical cleaning process. Water and energy is saved by recycling the process water again for flushing.
Meteco has own laboratory equipment for pickling liquids quality control. Picling plant has been audited by authorities for the components of nuclear plant processes.

Assembly

Final assemblies will be tested, packed and loaded into the containers. On request we take care of forwarding arrangements, too. Our total assembly facilities are 3500 m2, partly equipped with key slotted bed ways. Overhead crane capacity: 20 tons.
